Weekend Wanderings: Hood Canal

Ever been to Seabeck, WA or Holly, WA?

Fantastic! Just an hour from us and with beaches to swoon over (swoon is my word this past week). We took a drive on Saturday just to drive and ended up here. No shopping, no Tacoma Boys, just driving and looking. It was restful and kinda like a repeat of our Alaska trip last month. Puget Sound is just slightly muted (or as Todd says a lesser version of Alaska’s wildness), but it’s home and within driving distance and we love it.

This was at Scenic Beach and the water in this picture is much calmer (not ours) than when we were there. The winds were coming from the north and whipping up the water into white caps. We drove out to Misery Point and realize why they named it that. The wind winds into your eardrums and if you stand out there for too long, it is misery.

A lovely Saturday to get away from the office and reading and writing. I got home and went back to work though. Lots of good progress. We are blessed with such a magnificent autumn. This week is mid-60s even. Amazing!
