Take a Cruise, You Said; See the World, You Said

Apologies for the lack of attention to this blog the past week. I’ve been busy preparing to embark on a trip to Alaska with my husband and my family and me attempting to “get er done” is to drop everything else that does not matter.

Of course this blog matters. It matters more than ever. In the interim, I’ve been meeting folks online to discuss patriarchy, reading piles of books on the role of woman (by patriarchists mostly), and collapsing on the couch after a busy day to watch Cosby Show reruns (nothing like Billy Cosby’s humor to refresh my spirit; he is hysterical!).

And then we’re leaving for a week to cruise to Alaska. I am so excited. I don’t even need to take a camera as my mom and my hubby will have a photo-taking marathon (both carry big hurking cameras now), but I do plan to soak up the beauty of God’s creation and to really consider how best to share my story, my memoir, my lessons.

I still am very reticent about some things, but I think it’s because I keep thinking “why would anyone care?” That is resistance, friends. So many people do care and want to know. So many have asked, encouraged, prodded me along (thank you to them; you know who you are), and generally expressed excitement at what they believe will be very healing and beneficial.

But first, to the glaciers! And the whales! And the northern lights! I can’t wait.
