So, have been digging out my goals/worksheets/2013 planners/notebooks and am starting to formulate what I want to accomplish in 2013.

I think the biggest thing is that I want to feel differently than I did in 2012. I am exhausted by shame and those pesky idea killers. I’m ready to move past the past and create my future. I don’t think I need anything to do it. I’ve got what it takes already right here with me.

Have you started thinking about 2013?

Having been on submission for over a year, I’ve re-examined my goals. They used to be ‘getting published by big fancy pants house, followed by a movie deal…and then world domination’

However, recently I’ve discovered wattpad. And I’ve been posting some short stories. A lot of people have said very encouraging and lovely things about my writing, and it made the light bulb go on over my head.

The best thing about writing is sharing your stories and having a complete stranger, ie: not your Mom, say they loved it and LOVED your characters.

So, my new goal for 2013 isn’t to get the attention of a big fancy pants publisher, but to SHARE more stories with as many peeps as possible. That may mean self publishing, or posting for FREE on wattpad. Either way, I’ll be writing more. And when you let go of ‘wanting’ you’re free to be truly happy for those writers who do get a big fancy pants book deal, because that means even MORE stories are ready to be shared.

Cheers! Great post.
