Idea Addiction: Manhattan Nest

I’m a recent convert to Manhattan Nest (I wish I had discovered him sooner!). First, he has excellent taste (very spare, doesn’t like clutter, which to me the bookish girl, sometimes I daydream about!), he is happy and loves his life (which we can all use a solid dose of), and he now has the CUTEST doggies.

And he helps me pretend that I do live in New York (Manhattan or Brooklyn) on a more permanent basis than my week-long visits every six to twelve months (or so!).

He’s got really great ideas about turning a previously unloved apartment (pictures of his apartments looked tortured before Daniel came along) into something that feels owned, like Daniel (and Max) (and Mekko and Linus) have been there awhile and have so much love to share, if I closed my eyes and tapped three times, my own house would assume similar proportions. Alas, no.

But if you rent or own, there are always inspirations to be gotten from Daniel/Manhattan Nest. I think his bathroom redo is still topmost in my memory, but I also love his reconditioning of doorknobs, doors, wood floors. He cares for the smallest element and it shows. We also share an affinity for vintage Hudson Bay striped blankets and anyone who loves those as much as I do is a true kindred spirit and an all-around fabulously talented creative brain (I simply have a thing for the multicolored stripes!).
