SPACE: IKEA Saves My Life

Yes, I know. The store hubbies love to hate. Every time we walk in the front door, my hubby panics a little bit. “Why are we going through this door? Why don’t we go through the exit and get to the pick-up area faster?”

Usually we do. Last week, however, I needed to browse. Thus the “quick IKEA trip” my hubby envisioned turned into a 2-hour ordeal and all he got out of it was pushing the cart around. Not fun.

But I am having a great summer with IKEA. I am addicted to the little things. A new lampshade here, a new set of curtains here, a frame for that picture there, and my newest addiction? A 3-dollar drawer organizer. God bless the person who invented such a thing.

It’s nothing fancy. You can get them everywhere, but I wanted to prove to hubby that I was trying to be practical and I threw one into our cart on a whim.

It’s the most popular thing at our house these days. Who cares about the lamp shades and the framed pictures, and shelves going up, it’s all about the drawer organizer.

Sometimes the simple things are the best.

What’s your favorite IKEA thing (keep it simple!) that you have utilized the most recently?

Let me know!

Baskets. I love the folding baskets. They’re square. You open them up, and poof! You have a storage bin. I love them. Wish I had one for every square cubby hole in the house. They hide my brochures! They’re perfect. You’re reminding me that I need to buy more.

Jackie,

Oh you and me both! I have way too many, but they are so useful. I love each and every one.
