So, my buddy Allison has got some great thoughts on branding yourself as a novelist over at her blog.
I am not sure how I figured this out a few weeks ago (might have been something I read by Donald Maas or something), but I too have decided to brand myself as a novelist. I’m working on a current WIP that is historical and I’ve got two other historical novels waiting to be revised (yeah, anyone see a trend here? I don’t like to revise, and I’m working on that bad habit). I love history and I love writing about people throughout history, although I think my Roman historical stuff (a la Thomas Costain) would pretty much suck. I’m not Phillipa Gregory either, and definitely not Ken Follett, however, I think I have a style that would work. And it’s all me. (That’s a definite plus.)
So with that decided, it’s back to the grindstone today. Yeah, I’ve got to finish my daily word count, go to the gym and work off that amazing chocolate pie my sister made over the weekend, and then finish up a to-do list (mostly corporate blogging stuff) before I crash on the couch tonight to work through yet another writing project I’m preparing to work on in December. Hee.
Busy as a bee over here.
Need to figure out how to get the word counter thing to work sooner or later so you can see my progress!
Happy Tuesday!
