We are now just a week away from Thanksgiving and I’m kinda freaking out. I have some serious writing to do before we’re there. After a successful weekend with the moving, I’m ready to settle into some tough writing work and in the word of Larry, “git ‘er done.”
In the meantime, here’s some interesting stuff from the world of publishing and politics.
Buy books for the rest of 2008! A campaign to keep slagging retail sales from affecting bookstores and publishing, the push to get people to just buy books has begun.
A few tart words from Jane Yolen about the multi-million-dollar advances for Sarah Silverman and Seinfeld (Disclaimer: I don’t care what they get; it’s the publisher’s money, not mine, sheesh).
Outgoing President and Mrs. Bush are pondering their own memoirs. After Curtis Sittenfeld and Oliver Stone wrote about what came down during the Bush years, President Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush have begun considering when their turn to tell “what came down” will be.
And I’m writing, writing, writing today. Shhhh. Trying to concentrate.
