Writing Through September

Okay, so I’m writing a lot lately. I think it’s because I’m worn out from the politics and the Wall Street turn to “socialism.” Especially if this bailout happens. I just don’t like it.

It’s easier to write when you can block out real life and listen to your muse. To nonwriters, it sounds like we have a personality disorder.

Truth: we do. LOL.

I’m trying to stay in tune with what’s happening out there, but some days I just can’t take anymore. It’s too huge. I can’t fix it myself (and I sure would try; that’s just my personality) and I can’t find any peace if I let myself get all keyed up. I don’t write well under duress. Well, okay, I do, but I hate it. And writing fiction for me is supposed to be fun.

So, this post is just to say that I’m tired of the political crap. I’m ready for someone to stand up and lead (to cross party lines and really lead), and I’m ready for the election to be over. [[Note: wrote this before McCain did just that, and good grief, I wish Obama had done it first. What does he do, just sit there and wait for others to show him what to do? Good grief.]]

Between David Axelrod and the New York Times, between Rush Limbaugh and Carly Fiorina, well, you’ve fried my brain folks. I can’t take ANYMORE.

Off to write today. Hopefully I’ll be back at it tomorrow.

I understand completely. I keep the tv tuned to the news while I write to provide some background noise….but by the end of the day I’m exhausted by all the political banter. It may be time to switch to music.

Yeah, and we’re not alone. So many people are waiting to find out about the bailout and the debate and then unplugging this weekend. I can’t wait.
